Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare Foundation is proud to be a member hospital of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN).
CMN is a non-profit organization that raises funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals worldwide. Countless individuals, organizations and media partners unite with our CMN to help sick and injured children in our community. Donations to our local CMN create miracles by funding vital programs, services, equipment and education that saves and improves the lives of more than 18,000 local children each year.
2017 Miracle Children
Each year our Children’s Miracle Network selects miracle children to represent all the children cared for at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare. The children and families are selected based on referrals from some of our Children’s Miracle Network funded programs throughout the hospital. While we believe every single child we care for is a miracle child, we select only a few for this yearly honor.
Tommie, 3 - Clinton, NY
Tommie was in need of speech therapy. Due to insurance restrictions, he was unable to get the care he needed to thrive. CMN Hospitals was able to help by providing the necessary funding to supplement where insurance fell short. Thanks to CMN Hospitals, Tommie is able to continue his therapy with his favorite speech pathologist, Lindsay, and is making excellent progress.
Miles and Amelia, 4 - Rome, NY
Miles and Amelia were born prematurely at 34 weeks and had to spend time in our Level II Special Care Nursery at the St. Luke’s Campus until they were strong enough to go home. Thanks to your generosity, CMN Hospitals funds the Level II Nursery. Miles and Amelia were able to stay close to home during a critical time, with family at their sides.
You can make a difference for local children. The success of our local Children’s Miracle Network is made possible by the many special events and grassroots fundraisers held year-round by local businesses, organizations, families and individuals. To learn more about how you or your business/group can make miracles happen for local kids contact Andrea MacDiarmid at 315-624-5600.
The staple fundraising campaign for Children’s Miracle Network is the sale of Miracle Balloons. During a campaign, Miracle Balloons are placed at registers at participating retail establishments. Employees ask every customer to buy a Miracle Balloon for $1 or more, and all donations go Children's Miracle Network at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare. Paper Miracle Balloons are a fun, simple way to raise funds while sending a message that you care about local children.
Miracle Balloon Fundraisers are also appropriate fundraising opportunities for local schools and/or groups that may be interested in raising funds either internally or through a special fundraising event.
The Miracle Balloon is the most recognizable fundraising icon in North America. More than 60 percent of people recognize the red and yellow paper balloon and nearly 40 percent have purchased one in recent years. Miracle Balloon sales have become the largest, most successful Children's Miracle Network program yet.
