There are a number of ways you can make a difference at the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). For information about how you can help and to learn more about specific areas currently in need of charitable support, contact the Foundations at 315-624-5600. We are happy to help you find the perfect fit for your generous gift.
Every gift our Foundations receive has a positive impact, and a major gift transforms our healthcare organization. To learn about our healthcare system's plans, needs and how your generous gift can make a difference, please contact the Foundations at 315-624-5600.
You can create your legacy through Planned Giving. Planned Giving allows individuals to make a lasting impact on people's lives through the services that MVHS provides to the community. By including a charitable bequest in your will, you will help MVHS continue our tradition of caring.
Gifts of cash, appreciated securities and real property are appreciated. If you would like more information on Planned Giving, please contact the Foundation at 315-624-5600.
Caring Heart Program
Sometimes it just comes down to a certain someone who makes your hospital stay a little bit brighter. Someone who really is interested in how you are doing. You can make a donation in honor of a MVHS physician, nurse or staff member who made a difference to you, share your story and ensure he or she is recognized for their outstanding care.
Acknowledge or remember your loved ones with your gift to MVHS.
Lights of Love
The annual Lights of Love Campaign is an opportunity for donors to make a contribution in memory of or in honor of someone special, to say thank you to a caregiver or given as a holiday gift. The annual campaign concludes each year with a special remembrance and candle lighting service. Following the service, the outside of the St. Elizabeth Campus is outlined in holiday lights representing those honored and remembered through Lights of Love. The public is invited to share in this special event held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica. Gifts received through the Lights of Love Campaign support the purchase of specialized cardiac equipment for the St. Elizabeth Campus.
Annual Giving Opportunities
Keith A. Fenstemacher Center for Continuous Learning
You can help make MVHS a more valuable, educational resource to our community. The Keith A. Fenstemacher (KAF) Center for Continuous Learning allows MVHS to provide a structured framework that supports learning opportunities, seeks funding for educational initiatives on an ongoing basis and partners with hospital and community members to build a better future for all of us. To learn how you can make a difference to the KAF Center for Continuous Learning, contact the Foundation at 315-624-5600.
Partners in Giving
The MVHS Partners in Giving Program builds philanthropic partnerships with local corporations and foundations. This partnership allows MVHS to grow and enhance programs and services, and is a great way to let your customers and employees know that your business invests in quality healthcare in our community. Each year, dozens of local organizations participate in the Partners in Giving Program. Our Foundations receive financial commitments we know we can count on and donors can participate in annual Foundation programs and events. Our Foundation team can help design a program that meets your philanthropic and marketing goals, while providing your business with recognition and visibility.
Read about two of our dedicated business partners:
GPO Federal Credit Union
"At GPO Federal Credit Union, we recognize the impact that MVHS has on our community, offering quality care to our employees and our loved ones, and providing employment to our friends and neighbors. GPO has, and will continue to be, a proud Foundation business partner, as well as a proud financial partner to MVHS employees. Both GPO and MVHS live by the core philosophy of 'people helping people,' so just as MVHS is there for us in our time of need, we're happy to be there to support it...whether it be helping at the Foundation Golf Open, funding the remodeling of a waiting room or serving hospital staff from our on-site branch and ATMs, GPO will continue to support MVHS for years to come."
Nick Mahew, President
GPO Federal Credit Union
"Northland Communications has had a long-standing relationship with the Foundations that today make up MVHS. We do this because we believe the level of care, expertise and commitment provided by MVHS is not often seen in communities of our size. This belief is only strengthened by the efforts to bring a new, state of the art hospital to downtown Utica to serve generations to come."
James P. McCarthy, President

Women's Giving Circle
The mission of the Women's Giving Circle (WGC) is to improve our community by creating a substantial pool of funds to effectively invest in projects and unique services that will build and strengthen the care provided at MVHS.
Our members reflect the diversity of our community and represent the grateful patients, residents, physicians, hospital staff and friends of MVHS, including business and community partners. Our collective membership is able to make a real and sustainable impact on healthcare at MVHS and members play an active role in helping to determine where contributions can have the most positive effect.
Our WGC gathers three times a year - once in the fall, winter and spring. Throughout the course of the year members receive information on projects for MVHS, are able choose a project for the WGC to invest in and celebrate our success. At our spring meeting, current members have the opportunity to bring potential new members to join our WGC. As part of your membership, attendance at WGC activities is complimentary. There is no additional cost to attend each of the events once we receive your annual membership.
We invite all women who want to make a difference to healthcare in our community to join. You will be welcomed by other dynamic women who share a common interest in learning about and determining funding for projects and programs at MVHS. All members make an annual contribution of $250. Each year, all membership contributions are awarded to programs the group collectively chooses to fund. Each member has an equal vote in determining how WGC funds will be allocated.
Each year, MVHS encourages its employees to make donations in support of the health system. Employees may sign up for payroll deduction, make a one-time gift or donate their time and energy at a myriad of Foundation events. To learn more about Employee Giving at MVHS, contact Michele Adams at 315-624-5600.
Double your donation! Ask your employer if they offer matching gifts to not-for-profit organizations like Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare Foundation and St. Elizabeth Medical Center Foundation.
