Scott H. Perra is President/CEO of Mohawk Valley Health System (Parent Company) of Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare, St. Elizabeth Medical Center and all related corporations in Utica, New York. Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) serves a multi county area of central New York and is comprised of 570 acute care beds, 202 long term care beds and over 50 locations in Oneida, Herkimer, and Madison Counties. An integrated delivery system with approximately $525 million in revenue and 4,200 full time equivalent employees, it has more than 24,000 inpatient admissions and 650,000 outpatient visits annually.

Mr. Perra received his Master of Science in Management Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Bachelors Degree in Health Services Management from the State University of New York College of Technology, Utica, New York. He was designated a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives in 2000. 

Mr. Perra joined St. Luke's-Memorial Hospital Center in 1985 becoming the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer in 1989, remaining in the position through the Faxton Hospital and St. Luke's-Memorial Hospital Center consolidation that began in November 1998. He was appointed as President/CEO in January 2009. Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center affiliated in March 2014.

In September 2012, he was elected to the Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company Board. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Association of NYS (HANYS), and served as Chairman from May 2012 – May 2014 of the Iroquois Healthcare Association (IHA), which covers 32 counties and 53 hospitals in upstate New York. Active in the Mohawk Valley, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the Mohawk Valley EDGE Board of Directors, Excellus Utica Regional Advisory Board, the Audit and Compliance Committee for the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc., and NBT Bank’s Mohawk Valley Advisory Board.

In 2015 he was selected as Business Person of the Year by the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce.  The award is given to individuals who have provided unprecedented service to the community.  Mr. Perra is a graduate of Leadership Mohawk Valley, a leadership program with a focus on preparing people to be leaders in the community and to shape its future. In 2015 as Leadership Mohawk Valley celebrated its 25th anniversary, Mr. Perra was selected for recognition as a leader in the category of “Challenge the Process” for his initiatives and innovative approach in consolidating health care in our region and enhancing services to improve the quality of health care for the Mohawk Valley.

He previously served on the ACHE Regents Advisory Council and Professional Advisory Committee for the Health Services Management Program at SUNY IT. He is past Chairman of Mohawk Valley Heart Institute and past Chairman of the Board of Directors for St. Luke's Home.  Previous board service includes the Board of Directors and Finance and Executive Committees for Hospice Care, Inc., Mohawk Valley Advisory Board for Adirondack Bank, Oneida County School and Business Alliance Board of Directors and Grants Committee member of the Community Foundation.
