Shannon Mathewson, MBA, PCMH, CCE is vice president of Operations at the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). In this role, she is responsible for the Pharmacy, Rehabilitation Services, Respiratory Care, Imaging Services, the Sleep Disorders Center, Advanced Wound Care and DSRIP/ Population Health.
Mathewson has been employed at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare since 1996 and served as director of Operations for the MVHS Medical Group since May 2007
In her role with MVHS she also works with the statewide DSRIP initiative in conjunction with the Central New York Care Collaborative (CNYCC) which supports the health of people with Medicaid and those without insurance living in Cayuga, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga and Oswego counties. CNYCC, comprised of more than 400 organizations representing medical, behavioral health, post-acute, long-term care, social service organizations and payers, is led by Auburn Community Hospital in Auburn, Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare in Utica and Syracuse-based St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center and Upstate University Hospital.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, her Master of Business Administration from State University of New York Institute of Technology in Utica, New York, and has also earned certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient Centered Medical Home Content Expert.
