UTICA, N.Y. – Continuing its renovation project, Faxton Urgent Care recently added hand-painted murals to two exams rooms to help ease children’s anxiety during visits. Artist Amy Eckler of Utica designed the wall-length murals with whimsical characters to please children and provide a pleasant distraction from their injury or illness.
In addition, activities have been built into the walls to keep children busy while they wait to see a provider. Both rooms will also have flat-screen TVs with child-friendly programming.
“These room upgrades were sponsored by the Children's Miracle Network to help our visiting children feel better faster,” said Kelsie Becker, operations manager at Faxton Urgent Care. “We are grateful for the improvements and for Amy Eckler’s artistic talent.”
