UTICA, N.Y. – Some of the children at the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Children’s Health Center (CHC) are receiving holiday gifts at their visits to the doctor in December, thanks to employees in the Customer Service Department at Preferred Mutual Insurance Company in New Berlin, New York. Knowing that there is much need in the Utica area, the department’s 19 employees purchased toys in all shapes and sizes for children and also wrapped other employees’ personal gifts for free-will donations to raise funds to buy more toys.

“It is a very generous thing to do,” said Jill Polizzi, the CHC site manager. “This is wonderful of them and greatly appreciated.”

The CHC providers care for approximately 5,000 pediatric patients from ages 0-18 years during the course of a year.
