Charging Unit Donated to MVHS Cancer Center

UTICA, N.Y. – On Thursday, January 4, 2018, members of the Believe 271 Board, the Oneida County Volunteer Firemen’s Association Board and the Pink Tie Committee met with the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Cancer Center team to present the charging unit for the Infusion Unit.

“This is our way of giving back to the community that has been so good to us,” said Brian McQueen, a Believe 271 board member, volunteer fireman and cancer survivor. “In the fire service, we understand that cancer is an epidemic and it is our hope that in providing this unit to the MVHS Cancer Center, it will help our community members stay connected while undergoing treatment in the Infusion Unit.”

The unit was purchased by the Believe 271 Foundation Inc. from the proceeds received at this year’s 1st Annual Pink Tie Gala. The 2nd Annual Pink Tie Gala will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro, New York.
