UTICA, NY – On Friday, March 9, 2018, at noon the Mohawk Valley Health System’s Central New York Diabetes Education Program (CNY Diabetes) is offering a free "Knock Your Socks Off!" foot (podiatry) clinic for people with diabetes. The event will take place at the CNY Diabetes Education Program office located on the 4th floor of the Faxton St Luke’s Campus, 1676 Sunset Avenue, Utica.
The meeting will feature a presentation by Daniel Herbowy, DPM, of Fútspä. Dr. Herbowy spent more than forty years practicing podiatric medicine and foot surgery in the Utica area. He is now the owner of Fútspä, a company that provides therapeutic and diabetic shoes. He will share basic foot care techniques and footwear options for people with diabetes.
Proper foot care is especially critical for people with diabetes because they are prone to foot problems such as a loss of feeling in their feet, changes in the shape of their feet and foot ulcers or sores that do not heal. For more information or to register, please call CNY Diabetes at 315-624-5623.
