City of Utica Mayor Presents Check to MVHS Cancer Center

UTICA, N.Y. – On Wednesday, December 12, 2018, City of Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri presented a check for $19,200 to the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Cancer Center.

Donations were raised for the MVHS Breast Care Center at Mayor Palmieri’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon, which took place on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Daniele’s at Valley View in Utica. Nearly 300 people attended the luncheon and was the largest amount the luncheon has raised to date.

“We are so grateful to have the support of the community and to be a part of such an incredible event,” said Nancy Butcher, MBA, executive director of Cancer Services at MVHS. “Breast cancer affects so many women right here in Central New York and with the funds we receive from generous donations, we are able to enhance patient services at the Breast Care Center.”
