Free prenatal breastfeeding classes are offered monthly at MVHS. The Lactation Consultant and IBCLC RNs are also available for outpatient appointments at the hospital or to see patients in their home.
To register, or for any questions about breastfeeding, call our Lactation Office at 315-624-4782.
MVHS employs two lactation consultants and two RNs who are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) to help expectant and new moms feel comfortable with breastfeeding. All staff in Maternal Child Services are also trained to help support moms with lactation needs and questions. Moms who deliver at MVHS should expect on-going support during their hospital stay, a follow-up phone call when they leave the hospital and another call two weeks later to discuss how things are going.
