MVHS Names Vice President of Philanthropy

UTICA, NY – John M. Forbes has been named vice president of Philanthropy for the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). In this role, Forbes provides leadership to support and sustain our philanthropic efforts with our community, medical staff and healthcare family. Along with additional Senior Team members, MVHS and Foundation Board of Directors and the Foundation team members, Forbes will develop a vision and strategic plan for the upcoming campaign for the new, regional health system. 

Prior to joining MVHS, Forbes was most recently a major gift officer for Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, where he was responsible for leading everything that involved major giving for nonprofits and fundraising organizations. From identification of a potential donor, to cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, he was responsible for building relationships with prospects that had the capacity and affinity to donate a major gift to the college. 

Forbes earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government, with a minor in Theater, from Hamilton College.
