General and Trauma Surgeon Joins MVHS

UTICA, N.Y. – Camille Richards, MD, has joined Mohawk Valley Health System’s (MVHS) New Hartford Medical Office - Medical Arts, as a general and trauma surgeon with admitting privileges at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Prior to joining MVHS, Dr. Richards worked at Upstate Medical University as a general surgery resident physician.

Dr. Richards earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Canadian University College in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She recently attended SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, to complete her general surgery residency, where she was awarded technical excellence in hernia repair.

Dr. Richards is certified in Advanced Trauma Operative Management (ATOM), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Dr. Richards was also an instructor for ATLS classes.
