David O’Connor, PMHNP-BC, has joined the MVHS Inpatient Psychiatric Department as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and will be working at both the St. Elizabeth and St. Luke’s campuses.
Most recently, Mr. O’Connor was employed at Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center in Utica, New York, where he served as an inpatient psychiatric nurse practitioner, nurse educator, director of Education and Training. He also served as an outpatient Community Mental Health Nurse and worked with adult, pediatric and adolescent populations with psychiatric, chemical dependency and/or medical issues. Mr. O’Connor also serves as adjunct faculty in the RN-BS online program at Utica College in Utica, New York.
Mr.O’Connor received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Utica College in Utica, New York. He has a dual master’s degree in Nursing Education from Excelsior College in Albany, New York, and in Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from SUNY Upstate Medical University Collge of Nursing.
