Yoga for Women event

Time: 9am (session will last approximately 1 hour)
Location: Clinton Central School Performing Arts Theater

Who can attend: This event is intended for any women in our community interested in improving their health, learning more about the art of Yoga and gaining a better understanding of how gratitude and generosity make a difference at MVHS.

What to bring with you:

All participants should bring a yoga mat (ideally a thick mat or 2 thin mats) and water. Wear comfortable clothing and if the temps are cool, warmer, loose fitting clothing. There will be refreshments provided after the session.

There is no cost to attend this Yoga for Women event. We invite participants to bring a new children’s book (or more), which will help support the families in our MVHS Centering Pregnancy Program.

Join local certified Yoga Alliance teacher Christina Buschmann, owner of Yoga Hot Spot, as she helps you discover the tools and develop the habits you’ll need to help improve your daily patterns and ultimately, your life. The classes she teaches are based on the belief that mental and physical health are interrelated, and should be conditioned together. This session will attempt to coordinate breathing and physical movement, improve focus and concentration, and help participants regain control of their body and mind.

About the MVHS Foundation Women’s Giving Circle:

The goal of the Women’s Giving Circle is to impact our community by creating a substantial pool of funds to effectively invest in projects and unique services that will build and strengthen the care provided at Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). Our members reflect the diversity of our community and represent the grateful patients, physicians, hospital staff and friends of MVHS, including business and community partners. Our collective membership is able to make a real and sustainable impact on health care at MVHS and members play an active role in helping to determine where contributions can have the most positive impact.

About the instructor: Christina received her Masters in teaching physical education from Syracuse University and has a BA from SUNY Brockport. She is a certified Yoga Alliance teacher and has been teaching yoga since 1985. After retiring from 32 years of teaching physical education in 2016, she opened a hot yoga studio - Yoga Hot Spot - where anybody regardless of fitness level, age, injuries, disease, illness, depression, anxieties, etc., can practice self care without judgments or expectations.
