At MVHS, we make caring for your mental health a priority. Our goal is to provide our patients with collaborative care through access to Behavioral Health Services within the primary care setting. By engaging in counseling services within your primary care system, your counselor and physician will be able to coordinate your treatment and enhance the care of your overall health.
Mental health treatment involves our emotional, social, and psychological well-being, and affects how we feel, think and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to other people and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
Our Licensed Behavioral Health Professionals offer crisis intervention, individual and family psychotherapy and supportive counseling services. MVHS Outpatient Behavioral Health Services may be used by children, adolescents and adults who are affiliated with a primary care physician in any of our MVHS Medical Group Primary Care Office locations. Your physician will refer you to a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional if you are struggling with depression, anxiety or any life circumstance in which you would benefit from counseling services.
Your primary care physician will work together with the Licensed Behavioral Health Professional to ensure your behavioral health needs are met and form a truly integrated team. They will communicate and help manage your symptoms and guide you on your path to wellness.
Information shared with your primary care physician will include medication prescription and monitoring, counseling session start and stop times, the modalities and frequencies of treatment furnished, results of clinical tests and any summary of the following items: diagnosis, functional status, the treatment plan, symptoms, prognosis and progress to date.
Services are Provided at all MVHS Medical Group Primary Care locations, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
