The Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is hosting a blood drive at its St. Luke’s Campus on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The blood drive will be held in the Allen-Calder Conference Rooms 1 & 2 at 1656 Champlin Avenue, Utica, New York.
Due to critically low blood supply, product distribution to hospitals is being limited across the country. Over eighty percent of patients can receive type O positive blood, making it the most common and sought after blood type. Any donation will help combat the national blood shortage.
Please consider making a Power Red Cell donation if you have one of the following blood types: O Negative, O Positive, A Negative or B Negative. Power Red donations allow the donor to give more red cells in one sitting.
Appointments are encouraged and appreciated. Walk-ins are welcome but appointment times are limited. Please follow COVID-19 precautions and be sure to wear a mask.
