St. Elizabeth College of Nursing (SECON) graduated 52 new nurses on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Of the 52 graduates, 39 attended weekday classes and 13 participated in the evening/weekend program. The 118th graduation ceremonies were held at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, formerly the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, in Utica on Saturday.
The Associate Degree in Nursing was presented to weekday and weekend graduates by College President, Kimberly Panko, DNP, RN, and the Dean of Student and Faculty Development Julie Wells-Tsiatsos, MSN, RNC-OB, MNN, C-EFM.
The SECON pin was presented by Weekday Senior Class Advisor Kimberly Gizzi, MS, RN, and Weekend Senior Class Advisor Wendy Bird, MSN, RN.
The valedictorian is Emily Howard of Leonardsville, New York, and the salutatorian is Brittany Meher of Whitesboro, New York.
The commencement address was given by Coral Montana, PNP, RN, who is a SECON Alumni and the co-owner of Blooming Pediatrics.
SECON is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. and registered by the New York State Education Department.
