Dr. Raja completed his fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA and the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He graduated from the highly competitive Mercer University Internal Medicine program in Georgia where he also served as Chief Resident. He also completed an Internship in Emergency Medicine at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, an affiliate of Albert Einstein University.
Dr. Raja is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), American College of Physicians (ACP), The Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association (ADA), National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) and American Thyroid Association (ATA).
He grew up in New York City and after completing his training decided to move back to New York to be closer to family.
His first job as an Endocrinologist was in private practice at a large multi-specialty group, the Slocum-Dickson Medical Group in New Hartford, NY where he currently works, is a Partner/Shareholder and also serves on the Board. He is a Board Certified Endocrinologist and on the ABIM committee involved with writing Endocrine test questions.
Dr. Raja also has privileges at the Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY and does Inpatient Endocrine coverage there.
He was the Chief of Medicine for MVHS and also served on the Medical Executive Committee for MVHS.
Since 2009, Dr. Raja has been involved with training resident physicians, NP/PA students and MD/DO medical students.
