Eric Schackow, MD, PhD, is the program director of the St. Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency Program, located at the Sister Rose Vincent Family Medicine Center (SRVFMC). Dr. Schackow has privileges at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare.
Prior to joining MVHS, Dr. Schackow was a Clinical Informatics physician, Epic Physician Builder and Faculty Physician, Family Medicine Residency Program at The Guthrie Clinic located in Sayre, Pennsylvania. He also served as clinical assistant professor of Family Medicine at the Department of Clinical Sciences at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, Dr. Schackow was a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Schackow received his Bachelor of Science degree and his Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. He also received his PhD and served as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Biological Chemistry at Northwestern University. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Michigan State University/Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
