KR Seetharam Bhat is currently an Assistant Professor in urology at SUNY Upstate Medical University and a consultant urologist practicing at the Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY. Dr. Bhat specializes in minimally invasive, robotic-assisted procedures to address cancers of the bladder, kidneys, and prostate and reconstruct elements of the urinary system. Additionally, he focuses on men’s health, especially BPH.
Dr. Bhat has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and abstracts and has been actively engaged in research work. He also has contributed to book chapters in medical textbooks on topics including robotic surgery, minimally invasive urologic procedures, prostate cancer, robotic prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, prostate biopsy, etc. Dr. Bhat has been a faculty at various urologic conferences. He also serves on the editorial board of many journals and is an active peer reviewer for various medical journals.
Previously, he was the Director of clinical outcomes and a senior clinical fellow at the AdventHealth Global Robotics Institute, Celebration, Florida. During his time at AdventHealth, he was mentored by Professor Vipul Patel and was part of the most experienced team of robotic surgeons.

Dr. Bhat earned his medical degree from St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, India in 2009.
Following this, he completed residency in General Surgery in 2013 and Urology in 2016. He was selected for the prestigious Vattikuti robotic fellowship at Apollo Hospital, Chennai, India in 2017. From 2017 to 2018 he taught as an assistant professor in Urology at St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, India.
